Hi! My name is Stephanie, I live in Houston, Tx, and I am trying to raise money for my best friend, Dani Winter.

Dani is a single mom of 3 kids that works really hard to do all the things. She is so very loved by so many members of her community but I think everyone is under the impression that she receives more support than she does. I know I was, but I've learned that isn't the case.

Dani also took in her elderly mom last summer and this has had many costs to her as well. She has fought tooth and nail every month to pay the rent, put food on the table, and still show up for her kids and community with very little support from the system. Like so many people, she has been paycheck to paycheck but unlike many of us, she does it on her own. She has been affected by all the same natural disasters the rest of us Houstonians have and after losing all of her groceries in the May derecho, she lost her job in June due to company restructuring and has been actively looking for work since. She then lost her groceries again when hurricane Beryl hit and had the unexpected costs associated with that.

She has truthfully been struggling despite how hard she's worked and right now she could really use her community to show up for her either by sharing this GoFundMe, helping her find a job that will add some stability back into her life, or donating whatever amount you are comfortable doing so, even if it's as low as $5. (Noting that any amounts can also be given through other apps if that is your preference.)

Dani is truly one of the most giving, hardest working, honorable people I know. Her heart is kind and all she wants is to be a positive impact on others and to be a good, loving mother to her kids. She loves them with her whole heart and sacrifices for them often.

The amount requested is to help Dani with one month worth of worth of rent, medical insurance that is not optional but extremely expensive, bills, car payment so she can make it to her job interviews, and to help with the groceries. This is an unusual ask, as Dani feels uncomfortable asking for help even for $20 from me, but it's what she needs to bridge the gap until she has stable income again.
