Help Danny Pilz conquer Brain Cancer

Danny's serious medical condition recurred in November 2019.  It began with a surgical procedure consistent with a craniotomy for tumor resection on 11/11/2019 at the University of Michigan Medical Center. The partially removed tumor would compromise his vision, language and memory, causing critical neurological disabilities. The biopsy revealed a very rare type of cancer: a malignant anaplastic oligodendroglioma of LTL (Left Temporal Lobe). Danny has been going through neurological difficulties including walking, writing and moving abilities in his right hand, visual impairment, expressive aphasia and short term memory lost. What is left of the tumor needs to be treated with chemotherapy. The medical treatment that is used in the US is only approved for other types of cancer. In Danny's situation it is considered experimental and therefore not covered by his medical insurance.  Danny's invasive tumor has severely affected his life. As if fighting with this disease wasn't enough, the tumor has forced him to stop working and depend entirely on his family's care. All donations will be used to be cover medical costs, including medical treatment, therapy, and exams.  We will be keeping this page updated on a regular basis with Danny's progress. Andrea Perry, a close family friend that lives in Ypsilanti, MI is assisting with this campaign for Danny. Andrea and her husband Fernando Abudeye see Danny on a regular basis and are helping with issues related to Danny's health insurance, doctors visits, and overall making sure we are doing everything we can to help Danny. Andrea worked in Zamorano from 2006 - 2012 and George Pilz was her first boss. During this time she and Fernando became close with the Pilz family and remain so to this day.
