Help Dani Heal: Liver Transplant Recovery Fund

Summer of 2023, my sister Dani found out that she needed a liver transplant due to a late-diagnosed autoimmune disease. At that time, she was healthy enough that the projected time frame to receive that new liver would be 5-10 years in the future. Unfortunately, over the past 6-8 weeks, her health has rapidly declined and the need for a new liver is urgent.

Saturday 3/22/25, she was notified that there was a perfect match and it could be hers if she could get to OHSU ASAP. 3/24/25 Dani has received the new liver and starts the recovery road to a brand new healthy life. The next 3-6 months are going to be financially draining to get through for both her and myself as her support person, taking care of her. Neither of us being able to work, having to rent housing near Portland and OHSU for approximately 90 days, our kids and their caregivers at home still needing life business as usual, possibilities of her medications or services needed not being covered by insurance, travel after we return home, and etc. We’re looking forward to getting our happy, healthy, carefree Dani back!
