Hi Everyone,

Ian and I (Renee) want to help raise funds for our good friend Dani so she can have life-changing surgery. We are happy to do this because Dani has a heart of gold, and she would go to the ends of the earth to help anyone in need.

Dani has had a rough 10 years, and until recently there didn't appear to be any relief in sight. In June 2014 she suffered a serious concussion but was on the road to recovery. Then, less than a year later in March 2015, she was involved in another accident when a school bus exiting a highway side swiped her car, writing off the vehicle and causing another concussion which set her further back than the original one.

It’s been 10 years of trying to find the right help. She has seen countless doctors over the years in Canada but they were only treating the symptoms and not able to identify the root cause of her injury. There have been stretches of Dani being bedridden over the years, to the point needing help in and out of bed on many days. It has progressively gotten worst to the point of her now having to wear a neck brace most of the time, and most days are spent in the dark, in pain, and in bed.

With the pain and frustration mounting, Dani recently took matters into her own hands and went to a clinic located in Buffalo. This has been a revelation, as the surgeon there quickly diagnosed Dani as having Cervical Spine Instability, as well as her having a torn disc that pushes against her spinal cord. In addition to the diagnosis, he also provided Dani with the surgery option that can change her life...and Dani is having that surgery in May!

The cost of the surgery and post-surgical care will be $35K CAD, which OHIP will not cover. So, we are asking anyone who can chip in at all to consider helping our amazing friend. Thanks so much in advance!
