Help Dango Run Free—Support His Surgery
Donation protected

Meet Dango, our sweet 1-year-old rescue pup who’s already been through more than any dog should in a lifetime. He was found living at a gas station in Arizona, part of a pack of homeless dogs just trying to survive. When I first brought him home as a foster, I was told he’d likely been hit by a car. But after getting him checked out, we learned the heartbreaking truth—both of his back legs had been broken at some point, and while they’ve healed, they didn’t heal properly. One leg, in particular, is severely impacted.
The rescue decided not to pursue surgery since he was “getting around okay,” but we’ve seen firsthand how much he compensates and how much discomfort he hides. We were also told that, over time, the arthritis will likely get so bad in that leg that he’ll stop using it—and amputation would then be the only option.
That’s not good enough for Dango. He’s young, full of life, and has already endured so much. We want to give him a real chance at a happy, pain-free future—one where he can run, play, and live like a normal, healthy pup. That’s why we've made the decision to move forward with orthopedic surgery.
The estimated cost for everything—assessments, the procedure itself, and post-op care (including physical therapy)—is around $8,000. It’s a huge number, but we are doing everything we can to make it happen. And turning to this community for help and support.
If you’re able to contribute, even a small amount, it would mean the world to us. And if you can’t donate, simply sharing this page can still help so much. Dango may have had a rough start, but with your support, his future can be full of joy, movement, and second chances.
Thank you so much for reading and for caring. ♡
