Help Danger Dog fight Parvo!

Hi friends,

 

This sweet pup is the aptly named Danger Dog. He is a three-pound snuggle muffin bundle of kisses.

 

He was a Christmas gift for the family, arrived on Christmas Eve, and by Christmas Day he was sick and we took him into the vet where he tested positive for parvo. Though we got pet insurance the day we got him, it wasn’t effective for 10 days. Even so, we moved forward with treatment but we got to the point where he had to be hospitalized. The prognosis for puppies with parvo - when hospitalized - is very good. We’re now on day three of hospitalization at the best emergency veterinary clinic in Denver. He’s been slowly improving, but still needs more time.

 

Unfortunately, that time is now beyond our financial reach. Between financial assistance from the vet (pet care loans), savings, and help from many of our friends and family, we have been able to cover his expenses through tomorrow evening. Hospitalization is approximately $2,500 per day. He will need at least 24-48 hours beyond that for continued care of central line fluids, supportive meds, and tube feedings until this virus passes and his appetite comes back, which will cost us roughly $5,000. I cannot bear to put a price on this sweet baby’s life, so I’m turning again to our community for help. If you can find it in you to donate - even a small amount - our family would be forever grateful, and Danger Dog can get back to his normal self of stealing our human kids’ stuffies, and playing tag with our angora bunnies. Our vets are optimistic. His prognosis is good with a few more days of what they’ve been doing.
