Help Dane Simmons Through Leukemia
$5,726 raised of
Dane’s story
Dane Simmons is Tammie’s nephew, a strong and athletic 16-year-old who plays football for the Jeannette Jayhawks. On August 28, during a game, Dane was hit head-on and temporarily became paralyzed on the field. He was rushed to Children’s Hospital, where doctors ran routine bloodwork and other tests. While the paralysis went away, the testing revealed something no one expected: Dane has leukemia. What began as a terrifying moment during a football game turned into the start of an even bigger fight. Dane began treatment immediately, and now this happy, healthy young man is facing a long and difficult road ahead. His treatment is expected to last 2 and a half years, which means this journey will require incredible strength, care, and support every step of the way.
Dane’s family is doing everything they can to stand beside him through treatment and recovery. The funds raised will help pay for Dane’s expenses to set him up at home and continue to care for him as well as the many expenses related to his treatments. Tammie is asking for help from friends, family, and the community to lift some of that burden. Please consider supporting Dane’s family as they care for him and walk with him on the road to recovery. Every donation, prayer, and act of kindness means so much right now.
