Help Dane and Emily Through This Tough Time

UPDATE 8/30/24
There is still a massive need for support to help them through this month's bills and obtain a reliable vehicle. Thank you all for the help thus far. Please help spread this more! If you have questions, please reach out to Emily or myself.

See below for current photos and updates.

Dane came home yesterday! He is dealing with a lot of confusion, some pain, discomfort, and unsteadiness.

We were able to learn a lot more than we knew before about his injuries once he was able to log into the mychart.

He has 4 broken ribs on one side, 3 on the other for a total of 7.
His pelvis is rotated but knee is fine other than being jammed.
The bone in his face is a "fracture of the left maxillary spine", he has a referral to an ENT to discuss if surgery will be needed.
His sternum is broken in multiple places.

His lungs look a lot better now, but he will need to keep up with the breathing machine thing. to rebuild the strength.

The blow to the head has caused some severe issues with his functional memory. He can not drive or be left alone right now for his own safety. He will be out of work a minimum of a month, possibly longer if this does not improve.

He is still difficult to rouse from sleep, which is concerning.

Dane can move around with a cane but is not encouraged to move a lot right now.

They are saying he will need outpatient, occupational and physical therapy. We are unsure what else will be needed yet till he starts going to dr appointments.

UPDATE 8/28/24
Broken bone in his face - may need surgery
5 broken ribs
Deflated lung
Knee injured - can not walk without a walker right now without leg buckling.

Last night, my soon-to-be son-in-law, Dane, was involved in a major car accident. He was a passenger in a car in a devastating crash. The vehicle was totaled, and Dane's phone was destroyed in the accident.

Dane, who is only 20 years old, sustained major injuries. He has a head injury (concussion), several broken ribs, abdominal bruising, and fluid in his abdomen. Currently, he is admitted to the hospital and is in stable condition, but he is experiencing a massive amount of pain. We are incredibly grateful that he survived the wreck.

His friend only suffered minor injuries miraculously.

Due to his injuries, Dane will be out of work for several weeks. His fiancée, Emily, my daughter, does not make enough to cover their bills on her own. We are raising funds to help them purchase a vehicle and to cover the gap in their bills during Dane's recovery period.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in helping Dane and Emily get through this challenging time. Your support and generosity are greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your kindness and support.
