Help Dana's Family Bring Her Home for the Holidays

Dana L. Wood laughed and loved through decades of discomfort before finally letting it all go on November 24, 2024. She stayed in this world as long as possible to continue smiling and sharing special moments with precisely the family and longtime friends who, even down to her very last moments, helped her feel comfortable with setting down the heavy load she'd been carrying for so long.

All Dana has wanted since an electrical fire took her longtime Sauk Village, IL, home in 2017 has been to be back under the same roof with her children Lauraann and Qwazar, and her grandcat Boyd, who she loved with her entire heart. Her children want more than anything to be able to do that for her, but even a simple cremation carries a hefty price tag they can't abruptly shoulder alone.

Please consider helping Dana's children bring her home for the holidays. The amount requested factors in the fees GoFundMe will deduct for hosting this fundraiser, and all donations will go directly to either paying for Dana's simple cremation or reimbursing payments her daughter fronted in the process. Should they be so fortunate, any excess donations will go toward honoring Dana however her children might possibly be able to, including buying an urn, organizing a memorial closer to her May birthday and attending events and visiting restaurants she never made it back out of the bed to experience.
