My name is Dana, and I’m reaching out for help for myself and my son. Recently, I lost both of my parents, and in the aftermath, I discovered that I was left with house taxes that no one else in my family knew about. I’ve been going to court, trying to keep up with the payments, but it’s been overwhelming—especially after losing my job due to vehicle problems. Now, it’s just me and my son, and I’m doing everything I can to keep our home and provide some stability for us. Our family also includes three beautiful dogs and one lovable fluffy cat, who mean the world to us and are part of what makes our house a home.

I’ve always been the type to handle things on my own, never asking for help—stubborn that way—but I’m at a point where I feel hopeless and out of options. I’m in tears as I write this, because I never imagined I’d be in this position. The funds from this fundraiser will go directly toward covering the house taxes and giving us a chance to get back on our feet. It will help us stay in our home and give me the breathing room I need to find work and rebuild.
