- My name is Diann Wells, grandma of Danae Wells. This is difficult to do, but our Danae and her family need help. Danae is 25 years old, a school teacher and a delightful person. Her family went from Little Rock Arkansas to a family reunion in Idaho. On the way home, they rented an Airbnb for the family in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The next morning she awoke and was very sick. They rushed her to the hospital and she was put ICU with pneumonia. The doctors believe her inability to expel carbon dioxide is a neurological problem with her diaphram. They wanted to airlift her from there to Arkansas, but because of Covid there are no available beds in Little Rock hospitals, and it would cost between ten and twenty thousand dollars. They are still trying to find an opening in a hospital in there and get her well enough to travel by car, but she has a trache, feeding tube and is on oxygen.
- The family was traveling in two cars of which one was a rental. Her mother rented another car and motel while the other members went back home. Danae's father then flew to Albuquerque for a week expecting to help drive her home. He has a new job so has no vacation or sick leave time, so got a plane back home to go back to work. In the meantime the costs are piling up. Her mother has now used up all of her vacation and sick leave time and depleted their savings. They have been there for over two weeks and there are so many problems there is no release date for Danae.
