A few months ago I thought I had an ulcer and tried to treat it with over the counter antacid medication. Note to readers, don't ignore or minimize health issues!!! If something doesn't feel right, go immediately to your doctor.

The pain, fatigue and nausea continued to get worse and I ended up in the ER Dept. at Kaiser in Santa Rosa. Luckily, there was a wonderful Doctor working that day! Although it was not fun to be poked, prodded, scanned, ultrasound and x-rayed...he did find the problem. A tumor has formed in my stomach about the size of a golf ball (slightly bigger) and it is almost completely blocking the opening to my small intestine. A tumor the size of a golf ball may not seem that big, but in a person of my size, it equals out to be "about a third of your stomach". Due to where the tumor is located and in order for them to get "clean boarders", they will have to remove a portion of my stomach with the tumor and re-route my intestines. My surgery date is Thursday October 14th, 2021. This surgery will create a life time of changes to my health along with a specific diet and ongoing supplements. I also have a pretty big Hiatal Hernia that has caused a portion of my stomach to move up into my chest cavity, pressing on other organs. Since August, I have had two ER visits, two endoscopy procedures and a biopsy taken of the tumor. They have diagnosed a GIST Tumor which is a slow growing malignancy that can usually be treated surgically. I may need to take some oral medication once they look at the pathology under microscope. The Hiatal Hernia will be repaired surgically at the same time the tumor is removed. The hospital visits, procedures, medications and time off of work has created stress and financial hardship. Although most of the expenses will be covered, there is need for the last $5,000. I am grateful for the Blessing of your heartfelt generosity.
