Help My Brother Fight His Way Back

On August 22nd, our family took another hard hit.

My brother has been in the ICU ever since, currently on full life support and fighting for his life. We are taking things one day, one hour, and sometimes one moment at a time. Through all of this, we continue to believe in him and hold onto hope that he will wake up and have the chance to begin the long road toward recovery.

Anyone who knows my brother knows that he has the biggest heart, an unforgettable personality, and a way of making everyone around him feel loved and welcome. His friendships stretch across the country because once you meet him, you never forget him.

My brother has struggled with sobriety, and unfortunately, he wasn’t able to stay on that path this time. Addiction is a devastating disease, but it does not define who he is. He is a deeply loved brother, twin, and friend. Beneath this struggle is the same kind, funny, generous person who has brought so much happiness into all of our lives.

He is my brother. He is a fighter. And he is worth fighting for.

If he wakes up—and we are praying every day that he does—the road ahead will not be easy. He will face an enormous amount of medical care, rehabilitation, recovery, and financial challenges. Our family is preparing to be there for him through every step.

My brother and I have had to put much of our own lives and work on hold so we can be by his side and help him through this unimaginable time. We are raising money to help ease the financial burden on our family, including medical-related expenses, travel, lodging, missed work, and any care or recovery support he may need moving forward.

The financial burden is becoming overwhelming, but right now, our priority is making sure our brother has the support he needs to survive and rebuild his life.

We are not asking for anyone to fix this for us. We are simply asking for help carrying a weight that has become too heavy for our family to carry alone.

We believe he is still fighting, and we are going to keep fighting right alongside him. We are praying that he gets the chance to continue his fight, overcome this disease, and come back to all the people who love him.
