Dana is a devoted mother to her 5 beautiful children, Michael, Joseph, Anthony, Christian, and Gia. Her greatest gifts are her children...and her gifts to others are her love, laughter, and happiness she shares with Chris, her family, friends, colleagues, and students. My sister’s home is always open for gatherings and holiday celebrations with her family and friends. Time spent with family is everything to her where traditions, delicious food, and good times surround all that enter her home.
Dana is also a dedicated New York City Department Of Education Special Education Teacher. During this recent challenging year while teaching during this pandemic she has made a significant difference in the lives of the students who are entrusted to her care. She spends countless hours planning and implementing creative and motivating lessons to keep her students engaged and learning in a remote learning environment. To see her students participate and engaged truly brings a smile to her heart. She recently posted these tender, yet simple words, “I love teaching and I love my students”.
Just recently my sister received devastating news as she was diagnosed with a rare form of internal Squamous Cell Carcinoma. It is a very difficult journey for anyone to have to take and we want to help support her. All contributions big or small will go directly to Dana’s medical expenses not covered by insurance, as well as food, gas , incidentals and other resources necessary to help her in her fight. She will need to travel to NYU Hospital everyday for radiation and chemotherapy beginning on Monday, April 5th for approximately 15 weeks. By donating, you will lighten the emotional and financial burden of her treatment.
Our family is so grateful and truly appreciative to each of you for your support and encouragement during this time. As we travel with Dana on the road to good health we look forward to the day she can host her wonderful family celebrations and can return back to the classroom where her passion for teaching is so evident in each of her students.
Please keep Dana in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.
