Dear Friends, Family, and Folks we may not have met yet!

Tristan and I are writing to ask for financial help for our mom, Dana Ashton, with the costs of cancer treatment. She has started chemotherapy at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, and is already working with Seattle Integrative Oncology to help with the side effects of chemo-damage to her body. After the chemo is finished, she will head out of town for follow-up treatment at a highly reputable and successful cancer treatment center.

Our mom recognizes that her health is her own responsibility, and has been very reluctant to request a full-scale fund drive, but to meet the medical bills for Integrative guidance, prescriptions that are not covered by her Medicaid insurance, and the expenses coming up to complete treatment at the specialty cancer treatment center in the late spring and early summer, we need to reach out and ask you for help. Our mom is putting a large percentage of her retirement savings towards her medical bills, and knows that once the cancer treatment is complete, she will need to work part-time...happy to be working, alive and healthy!

We are proud of her tireless discipline and cheerful determination during the past 8 1/2 months!! Being supported by family and friends, we thank you SO MUCH! She is greatly inspired by the courage and fortitude of her community of former or current cancer patients, and she hopes to add some momentum to the wave that is moving across North America, calling for better health care, more acceptance of well-documented, science-based and highly successful therapies available in countries outside the US, more access to clinical trials, more alternative medicine, and comprehensive treatments that address the makeup of each individual.

We have a contact base of about 125 people who are receiving this Go Fund Me link. If each person we contact is able to contribute to the fund drive plus send the link to someone less known by the family (a person who might have met our mother just once before but would love to help out), this will increase our contact base to 250 people! Our goal is to raise $100,000. Donations from $100 to $1,000 are a huge help, but anything you can contribute is truly appreciated!

Our mom would like to express that although these past several months have been very challenging, she is grateful to be growing as a person, and has a new awareness of the beauty around relationship connections, community, gratitude, nature, synergy, love, humility, creativity, patience, flexibility, stress reduction, and slowing down.
