Help Dan Stewart's fight against cancer
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Andrew Stewart and I am Dan Stewart's younger brother. I am setting up a GoFundMe in an effort to help Dan as he goes through chemotherapy to treat his recent diagnosis of Non-Hodgkins B-Cell Lymphoma.
In late March, Dan went to the doctor because his back pain had gotten so severe. When he went in, they found the source of his pain was a large marshmallow sized tumor that had attached to his spine and was pushing on his sciatic nerve. They scheduled a biopsy but ended up removing the tumor immediately following the biopsy because, due to the location of the tumor, there was concern of possible paralysis. The removal of the tumor caused some damage to his spine and metal pins and plates were used in order to stabilize the spine. Dan was recovering at Paul and Julia Van Der Werf's house, but has recently returned to his home.
On Wednesday, April 27th, Dan had an oncology appointment and was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkins B-Cell Lymphoma. He has lymphoma in his neck, chest, stomach, backside, thighs, and spinal area. The oncologist believes that this is very treatable with chemotherapy and radiation. He will be receiving chemotherapy or radiation every 21 days or so for the next several months.
So far, Dan's spirits have been positive throughout this process. He is diving in head first and is willing to do as much as he can to overcome this sickness. We know the Lord is watching over Dan and believe God will continue to guide his heart. We pray for God's healing and strength for Dan each and every day.
Dan will not be able to work during the next 3-6 months. He will need money for medical bills, regular monthly bills, food, rent, and everyday items. If you feel so led, please consider donating to help shower Dan with love as he navigates this difficult season and strives to beat his cancer.
