Hi I’m Raymon, Dan’s youngest son. Sunday January 14th Dan had his first stroke, he had multiple plaque clots in multiple arteries. He took an ambulance ride to mercy medical where they put him on blood thinners and high blood pressure medication. By Monday mercy medical had discharged him and he was doing well, could talk and walk just like most of you remember the ornery, stubborn Danny. Monday the 16th my brother and I took him up to providence medical hospital in Portland for a second opinion, he wasn’t feeling normal and felt like mercy had discharged him too soon. The doctors in Portland looked at his MRI and CT scans and gave him a new CT scan, his artery blockages were getting smaller and we were sent home. Saturday January 21st after watching the UFC fights with his family he went home and had his second stroke at approximately 11pm, this stroke was worse than the first. He took another ambulance ride to mercy medical yet again. They put him straight into the CT machine and found he had a new clot in his brain. Sunday his headaches got worse and we convinced mercy to give him another CT scan. This time he had a massive brain bleed (hemorrhagic stroke) he needed to be life flighted to a hospital with a neurology department, after 7 long hours they found him a bed at sacred heart in Eugene. His bleeding has been stopped and the swelling as well. He lost control of his left arm and his left leg, his brain is having a hard time communicating with the two. When he gets out of the hospital he will need to go to a in-house rehabilitation center to help rewire his brain and learn how to walk and use his left arm again. Oregon health plan will not pay for the neurological rehabilitation he needs. We will also need to make his living condition adaptive to his new situation. With this money we will help my dad walk and live a normal life again. Thank you guys
