Help Dan recover from a heart transplant

Donation protected
Hi my name is us Sarah I’m doing this to raise funds for one of my best friends Daniel Smith. Dan Smith was diagnosed with congestive heart failure May 11m 2017 at only 33 years old. He was told that most people with his condition live an average of 5 years. He has been on 8 different medications since then. He needed a milrinone infusion through a port in his chest where he had a pick line deliver life saving medicine to his heart as well as having to wear a defibrillator vest in case his heart stopped. Dan was told he needed a heart transplant, while he waited qualify for the heart transplant list Dan applied for SSI/SSDI despite being told he would die without a transplant he was denied Social Security Disability. Dan had to meet extensive criteria to qualify for a transplant such as weekly & random toxicology screenings as well as an immediate family support Network. Dan was able to qualify for a transplant after meeting the required criteria including getting dental work done. Dan was active on the transplant list and was notified that he had received a donor heart 4 1/2 years into his prognosis. The next day November 27th 2021 Dan was on his way to MA with very little notice, he had a successful transplant surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dan will be on medication for life to make sure his body doesn’t reject the new heart. He is currently on the long road to recovery until he can work again. Dan needs financial support with travel & living expenses while he recovers.
