Help Dan Landrum walk again!

We are reaching out to ask for your support for a dear friend, Dan Landrum, who is currently facing a severe health crisis. He recently suffered an aortic valve tear, a life-threatening condition that requires immediate and extensive medical treatment.
On Monday, July 15, 2024, a rare accident happened to Daniel Landrum in the late hours of the evening. After a happy day of shopping with his significant other, Sonia, the night drastically changed from excitement to panic.
During some vigorous activity, Dan felt an unexpected "pop" in his back behind his heart. It scared him and jolted him to his feet. It wasn't long before standing on his feet was no longer possible. Blood stopped flowing to Dan's lower extremities. Sonia immediately called 911. The EMTs came and carried Daniel away to Culpepper County Medical Center.
A CT scan discovered the pop Dan heard was a life threatening Aortic Valve Tear. He was flown by helicopter to UVA medical center for a life saving operation. In addition open heart surgery called aortic dissection, the doctors performed a fasciotomy on each leg to prevent full paralysis.
Last week, the doctors reopened Dan's chest to repair the dissection with an artificial tube. As he recovers, he is in high spirits and trying to stay positive.
Unfortunately, Dan doesn't have insurance, and the cost for treatment is overwhelming at above $180,000. These costs include his open-heart surgeries and, more importantly, his physical therapy. Dan lost feeling below the waist, and it will be a long road to recovery. Getting proper treatment will be tremendously important in being able to walk again.
Any help puts him one step closer to reaching his goal of walking again. Help us reach this goal for this caring, funny, and authentic friend, father, and son.
