$20 came in recently with a tiny question that hit me like a rock! This question had never been asked yet was two years overdue for an answer: “Is this appeal still necessary?" she asked.

At my age, the impact of financial abuse can become perpetual.

I am sure that others know and can feel this too!

In the past…..I had no concern about financing my later years.

Then came the betrayal. I fought it legally, as justice requires, and only then learned that justice too can be betrayed. Malaysia paid no attention to the California laws that defined our marriage!

This enabled justice to be denied.

My father was a judge for nearly fifty years. An extraordinary, principled man who instilled in me his deep confidence in justice.

In the end, the crisis in my family pointed to what is a

Global crisis in justice.

California law clearly sees financial abuse as a kind of Domestic Violence. Healing from it often takes longer than healing from physical wounds. Both cause trauma, their effects can last the rest of a lifetime. The abuse funds the abuser's defense and de-funds the victim. Money becomes the Weapon.

Everyone who donates here provides a true solace in my life! And yet, donations have been nowhere near enough to address the real problem which no modest request could have solved.

I find it impossible to give up working on the things that truly matter… So this case forced me to focus on a much bigger problem.

I had to bring my appeal for justice back to the US, because Malaysia didn't recognize our contract of marriage in California. Our family assets have always been equally shared wherever we went in the world. We lived that agreement in every practical and legal way. But the betrayal left me without even the funds to legally defend against the theft!

California law has no way to enforce its judgments in Malaysia, and I could not afford to pursue justice across those borders. The Financial Abuse problem became global because there is No Collaboration between the California and Malaysian systems of Justice.

So....Is this appeal still necessary? - Yes it is!

The real problem is more than a Family Crisis. The Crisis is Global.

There is no global justice. It has simply never built it. And yet international human rights law and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights already recognize the right to an effective remedy and to equal access to justice. We have the right, but no way to exercise it.

This also isn't only about justice! It's that there is No vehicle for global collaboration. We have the technology to communicate directly between billions of people, and still no means to truly collaborate in the ways required to establish our most fundamental human rights.

Without having solved my family's crisis, my focus instead is on the global crisis in collaboration. This appeal for donations remains valid, I deeply appreciate your contributions, and more importantly they keep me working on this more important problem.

Money is power AND Knowledge is power

These two phrases are spoken in every language. Both are true.

But we have allowed money to wield its power over knowledge! This is a serious mistake!

The legal system is how we give Power to Knowledge

Money is global. But the knowledge in the law is NOT.

Once I saw this, I couldn't stop seeing it. I hope you can see it too!

Humanity has already agreed on what we want:

Security, Freedom, Agency, Dignity, and Justice.

What is missing is the global collaboration to act on it.

We need technology for this because human knowledge is the most fundamental component of collaboration. It's clearly more important than money. Large Language Models (The AI of Natural Language) have now given us the ability to deliver all of humanity's knowledge on demand. What we need are the systems to make this human knowledge globally accessible.

The lack of technology for collaboration is why we can't act on the climate, why financial systems outrun our institutions, why war remains the default when nations disagree. All this is what happens when there are no mechanisms for global collaboration.

I’ve spent fifty years preparing for this time.

My work on Collaboration Café is what it's all about.

When I was impressionably young, Buckminster Fuller injected a deep sence to my thinking. I was lucky enough to meet him and set out to work to help put on the World Game workshops. When we first met him I asked. “What can I do to help? ” He said:

“Look for something that needs to be done, that no one else is doing, which would put humanity at a great advantage — and if left undone would keep us all at a great disadvantage.”

I took this an an assignment! To understand that there is NO shortage! NOT even of Know-How.

The limiting factor is the lack of collaboration.

Everything I've done has circled around that single assignment.

I applied my computer skills for controlling the climate in Buckys Fly's Eye Domes. I helped to develop the User Interface foundations for Personal Computers with touchscreens while the industry was still wondering if anyone would want to touch a screen.

I created a technology putting sound into books to make them useful for learning languages and developed concept semantic systems before there were any Large Language Models. I brought entrepreneurship programs to Malaysia hoping to supercharge innovation.

Fuller gave me hope, but there was always the missing piece to make it whole. That piece now exists. I saw it because I’d spent my life looking for it.

The AI revolution of Large Language Models is wildly misunderstood. One crazy claim is that they simply predict the next word — this ignores the foundation of the semantic storage and retrieval underneath them. Another notion is they are a new kind of alien intelligence and we should either be afraid of them OR worship them. This is crazy because LLMs are entirely Human Intelligence. They are the vast body of human thinking that has been captured from the solid human meaning condensed out of human minds. It is not something apart from us. It is us. The condensed, accessible wisdom of all humanity. Any other framing quietly hands away human agency.

It's a navigable map of humanity's own captured thinking — everything we've written down, in a form we can query together. We’re not asking a machine we’re asking the best human thinking.

We don’t need another Computer User Interface. We need is a Human-to-Human interface.
