Hey friends,
Life has a way of throwing curveballs, and my brother Dan just got hit with a big one. On Thursday, February 13th, 2025, he was in an acro yoga accident that resulted in a broken C1/C2 vertebrae. To say we are grateful he’s alive and has full physical function is an understatement—because the alternative was terrifying. But while we’re beyond relieved, the road ahead is long.
Dan is now in a neck brace for at least the next six weeks (probably longer) and has a long recovery before he can lift, work, or do much of anything truly weight-bearing. On top of that, he was remodeling his house to rent out two rooms—his plan to help cover his mortgage—but all of that is now on hold.
If you feel called to support Dan during this time, anything donated will go toward hiring out the work he can no longer do himself. Our family is rallying around him as best we can, but we know this will be a heavy financial burden. We would love to lighten the load so he can focus on what matters—getting better. If you can contribute, we are beyond grateful. And if nothing else, send some good vibes his way—he could use those, too!
We appreciate you,
Julie Thomas (Haynes)
