Dan is a 46 year old father of two, ages 18 and 7. He is expecting his third child, a daughter, in December. Dan is an extremely hard worker and has spent his life working in the construction field. Pouring and finishing concrete is his specialty, despite long hours in grueling conditions. On weekends, he can often be found grilling and feeding his friends and family, which has always been a passion of his.
On september 09, 2024, everything in his life changed; Dan was diagnosed with stage three colon cancer. He currently has a tumor that is 9.5 cm in size, encompassing his entire rectum. The doctors felt that the best course of action was to operate and give him a colostomy bag.
While Dan was in the hospital, doctors also diagnosed him with early congenital heart failure.
Dan's most recent scan also revealed a tumor in his adrenal gland, which if found cancerous, will make him stage four.
With this barrage of bad news, Dan's family is working hard to balance the joy and excitement over a new baby and the grief they feel with this horrific disease. Dan is very strong man that has an optimistic outlook, with a driving force to live life. However, this is something that Dan and his family cannot do alone. Dan is currently unable to work due to the symptoms of cancer and health complications that accompany this illness. Dan would much rather be at work supporting his family.
