I’m starting this GoFundMe to raise funds for my partner, Dan, who urgently needs a private operation called VAAFT (Video-Assisted Anal Fistula Treatment). Unfortunately, the NHS can only offer a procedure with a much lower success rate, and after everything he’s been through, he deserves the best possible chance at recovery.

Dan is only 30 years old and has been battling Crohn’s disease since childhood. It’s a cruel and exhausting illness that has caused him years of pain, hospital stays, and complications — but despite it all, he’s always tried to stay strong for our family and especially for our two young children.

Since the beginning of this year, his condition has worsened significantly. He’s been off work due to severe pain and ongoing medical issues, which has placed an enormous emotional and financial strain on us. The operation he needs privately, VAAFT, has a much higher success rate and offers real hope of ending this cycle of suffering and allowing him to get back to being the amazing dad and partner he’s always been.

The total cost of the private surgery, hospital fees, and follow-up care comes to around £5,500, which is more than we can afford on our own — especially while he’s unable to work.

We are so grateful for any help, no matter how small. Every donation will go directly towards giving Dan the chance to live without constant pain and to be present again for the moments that matter most — playing with our kids, laughing together, and simply living life again.
