Beginning in May of 2020, Dan began having physical symptoms that led him to seek testing at Mayo Clinic. He’s since been diagnosed with Neurosarcoidosis, a life-changing disease of the central nervous system. Dan suffers from inflammation of the brain, loss of balance, loss of feeling in his face, hands and feet and blurred vision. Shortness of breath, dizziness and loss of hearing are some other horrible effects of this disease that he’s been battling like a champ. Shortly after being diagnosed, Dan was struck with an infection in his spine and has now had numerous MRIs, blood tests, EKGs, a spinal tap and chest x-rays so his team of doctors know exactly what they’re up against.

Anyone that’s ever been to Grand Meadow has undoubtedly been served by Dan and Sadie at The Diner. They’re a staple of the GM community and as such, the community wants to help in whatever way possible.  It goes without saying that any funds raised will be directed towards the mounting medical and traveling expenses Dan and Sadie incur from the multiple appointments he has.
