Hi, my name is Savannah Cantara, and I'm the daughter of Dan 'Casper' Cantara. I've set up this fundraiser to help him rebuild after the tough challenges he's faced this year.

2024 has been a challenging year for Dan Cantara, affectionately known as Casper. A few months ago, he received the news that the property where he’s run Casper's Express BBQ in Kenneth City for 15 years was being sold for development. This meant he had to close his beloved BBQ business—a devastating blow, as cooking and serving his mouth-watering smoked BBQ has been his passion and livelihood.

As many of you know, Casper’s BBQ has attracted not only locals but visitors from across the country. The closure of his business has greatly impacted his income, and just as he was navigating this tough transition, Hurricane Milton dealt another blow. His home in Pinellas Park, where he was relocating his BBQ equipment in hopes of restarting, has been severely damaged. The roof is destroyed, the property is covered in debris, and the costs to rebuild are overwhelming.

Casper is the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back, the shoes off his feet, and still ask what else he could do for you. He’s not one to ask for help, but the current situation has left him with few options. He’s reaching out to his community for support to cover the insurmountable costs of repairs and to help him get back on his feet.
