Help Dan Bodencak's Girls during this tough time
Donation protected
On Thursday February 3rd, Danny collapsed at home while getting his girls ready for school. He was rushed to the hospital and placed on a ventilator. Danny consequently had bleeding in his brain, damaged lungs, and remained in critical condition. Despite everyone’s efforts, Danny never regained consciousness and succumbed to his illnesses on Friday February 11th.
Danny leaves behind his loving partner of 19 years, Laura and his 3 beautiful daughters Gracie (11) and twins Natalie (6) and Julia (6). Danny was a “girl dad” through and through.
Danny was the sole provider for Laura and the girls, allowing Laura to stay home and care for their daughters. Something she’s forever grateful for. Danny was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes in his early teen years. In 2019, Danny was diagnosed with kidney failure and began peritoneal dialysis 5 nights a week so he would still be able to work and provide for his family.
They have all been involved in caring for Danny for the past couple of years. Laura quickly adapted to Danny’s health needs as his health declined. She became trained in the home dialysis so he could have his treatments in the comfort of their home. These girls have been his inspiration to fight through everything and push him to fight harder to get put on the kidney / pancreas transplant list. They endured the endless doctors’ appointments to get him cleared and he finally was on the list in March of 2021.
In 2020, Danny was no longer able to work a full-time job. He did odd jobs for extra money to support his family, but this past year has been very hard on them. He had heart surgery and multiple hospitalizations. He continued to fight to live and stayed on course of treatment to hopefully get a transplant.
Anyone who knows Danny is completely heartbroken. He was a dedicated father, loving partner, and genuine friend. Any support that you can give is greatly appreciated.
