On October 28, 2025, Hurricane Melissa, a catastrophic Category 5 storm, tore through Jamaica, leaving behind unimaginable devastation. Our dear friends, Dan and Olivia, retired U.S. Coast Guard veterans who recently settled in St. Elizabeth, lost everything — their home, their belongings, and every trace of the peaceful life they had just begun building in their beloved island community.

They escaped with nothing but the clothes on their backs. But as heartbreaking as their loss is, Dan and Olivia’s first thought has been for their neighbors — the families, elders, and children of St. Elizabeth who are also struggling to survive in the aftermath of this disaster.

Those who know Dan and Olivia know their hearts: decades of service, courage, and compassion. Even now, in the face of total loss, they are determined to help others rebuild. And that’s why this GoFundMe exists — to help Dan and Olivia get back on their feet, and to bring relief to others in their community who have lost everything too.

A little about me: My name is Tiffany, born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, and I have been friends with Olivia since the age of 13. We are more like sisters, and I have been heartbroken to see the devastation in my homeland. Like so many others, I feel the need to do anything possible to help in any way I can, and this GoFundMe is just the start.
