My name is Susie, Dan’s sister, and along with Dan Drabin and Kathleen Nagle-Roides families, we are raising funds to help cover medical expenses along with support for both Dan and Kathleen following a life-changing motorcycle accident in Florida on April 12, 2025.

On April 12, 2025, Dan and Kathleen were seriously injured after their motorcycle collided with an SUV in Cape Coral, FL. Both Dan and Kathleen sustained serious injuries that required them to be transported to the closest “Trauma Center,” Gulf Coast Medical Center.

An SUV turned directly into the path of their motorcycle, causing them to collide with the SUV and ejecting them. They were left lying in the roadway with serious injuries near a heavily damaged motorcycle.

The individual driving the SUV was clearly on a cell phone, walking away from the scene but did not call 911 to report the crash or help them. His license is currently revoked due to habitual traffic offender status.

On Sunday, April 13, officers went to his home. They arrested him on charges of Leaving the Scene of a Crash Causing Serious Bodily Injury and detained him until his court appearance a month later.

Sadly, this accident has led to severe injuries: broken limbs, ribs, pelvises, and complications of injuries. This has resulted in extensive medical care, including surgeries, hospitalization, and ongoing therapy, resulting in significant financial strain.

• We are raising funds for ongoing treatment, home modifications for enhanced independence, and specialized equipment to improve quality of life and lessen the financial strain they are experiencing. In doing so, this will help Dan and Kathleen focus on their recovery as they have a very long road to recovery.
