Hi, my name is Mary, I am Daniel’s mother. Dan and Shelby are a young military couple, attempting to embrace the new life of being in the military. Dan is a US Marine. His tour of duty is almost up (in March), and he will be transferring over to the US Army. He is currently at Camp Pendleton, CA. Shelby has been mostly in North Carolina, as Dan has been deployed and such. Dan recently purchased a car and drove it for about a month, then discovered that the engine was blown. He had more than one mechanic inspect it. Dan still has a loan on this vehicle, with no warranty. The vehicle was taken to a nearby garage, & a new engine was placed into the car. The cost to replace the engine (with labor) is $4600. However, Dan and Shelby do not have the funds to pay for this major repair. Dan is about to transfer next month to a new duty station (not sure where yet. The car has to be picked up before the transfer ). He has no transportation. If anyone can assist, it would be so greatly appreciated. I’m so proud of Dan for serving our country, and the military life is so much different than most.
