Help Damon Get A New Foot

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Damon and I’m fundraising to help pay medical bills relating to a Necrotizing Fasciitis infection I caught that destroyed my left foot. Unbeknownst to me while walking around Los Angeles in early December 2023 on a trip, I was infected with the bacteria and carried it home to Arkansas. Falling ill upon my return, I struggled with other health issues relating to diabetes before the infection became apparent. I was able to get to UAMS Medical Center on New Years Eve. They saved my life. 1 in 3 people die from the infection even with surgery. I am one of the lucky ones that lived.

In the past I used this campaign to keep my household afloat while i found insurance and applied for work. I now have a part-time job and a small personal insurance policy. However my ACA insurance does not cover all of my health needs and the premium cost has skyrocketed. I am about to lose it. I cannot get ahead with what little I earn. I have not been able to find any full time work. I was a live-in caregiver for nine out of the last fourteen years with little income and no savings. I am ineligible for unemployment benefits, have been denied Medicare, and have lost my SSDI benefits. My Medicaid benefits are in limbo. My medical bills are unexpected and enormous. I have vey little means to pay for them on my own. The creditors keep calling and making demands. That is why I am asking for help.

Funds raised will be used to:
1. ***Pay off my cost of living bills while in treatment. $12,000. ***
COMPLETED
2. Pay off my $40,000 ER bill.
3. Pay off my $6000 in doctor visit bills insurance won't cover.
4. Pay off my $3000 medical insurance premiums until the end of July 2026.
5. Pay for the $3000 cost of my artificial leg.
6. Pay for the $300 cost of my orthopedic shoes.

At 52 years old I never thought I would be in this situation but am trying my best to deal with being a rare survivor of one of the deadliest pathogens in the world. So please help me if you can. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated. If you cannot donate please like and share the link to the campaign. Thank you for your time and generosity.
Sincerely,
Damon D. Brown
