My grandson Damian was born on February 11th as a planned induction. However, due to his umbilical cord prolapsing the second the water broke, they needed to rush him and his mom, Angel, to the OR for an emergency C-section.
It cut off his air supply and when he was born, doctors had to manually breathe for him, and he and his dad, Adam, were life-flighted to Billings while Angel was left behind in Cody to recover from her C-section. He was eventually breathing on his own and was on oxygen, and shortly after, breathing room air. We are still in the NICU while he recovers, and we are waiting for more tests to make sure everything looks okay. It's been a long, scary road, but Damian is proving to be a strong little fighter and seems to be doing a little better each day. We love this little guy!
As you can imagine, there will be lots of extra expenses with the plane ride to another state, the C-section, and nine days in the NICU. This little family will be grateful for any donations to help cover medical expenses and any missed work.
