Help Damia continue her education at MSVU
Donation protected
Our dear friend, Damia Williams, is a bright and determined young woman from The Bahamas who came to Halifax, Nova Scotia, with a dream: to further her education at Mount St. Vincent University and build a better future for herself and her community.
Damia is in the Child and Youth Studies Program and plans to graduate in 2027. Her goal is to become part of the community of Early Childhood Education practitioners who help raise and shape the children of today—impacting generations to come.
In her time here, Damia has built a life she loves—through her church, school, and work—and she hopes to continue being part of the Halifax community long after graduation.
But as an international student, Damia faces unique challenges. She pays significantly higher tuition and international fees than domestic students and isn’t eligible for many forms of financial aid. Recently, she’s faced unexpected financial hardship, making it extremely difficult to cover her tuition and living expenses.
Despite working hard, budgeting carefully, and doing all she can to make ends meet, the gap between her resources and needs has grown. Without our help, she risks having to pause—or even give up—her education.
This is where we can step in.
Your support will go directly toward:
• Tuition & international student fees
• Living expenses (rent, food, transportation)
• Educational materials (textbooks, supplies)
Every contribution—big or small—will help Damia stay in school, graduate in 2027, and continue to give back to the community she now calls home. Even if you can’t give financially, sharing this campaign with your network can make a huge difference.
Let’s come together and show Damia she’s not alone in this journey.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
