Hello, my name is Dallon Elting. In January of 2017, I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. Over the last almost 5 years, I have gone through many rounds of treatment and have been blessed with the help of many wonderful people during that time. I have put up a GoFundMe multiple times, and each time have been humbled that people would be willing to help my family and me during these times. Unfortunately, my battle seems to be coming near the end, and I am once again forced to humble myself for the sake of my family and ask for financial help from others.

This has been a tough year for me, the cancer has continued to spread, and I have found myself in the hospital 6 times in the last 6 months. Although I have been doing treatment during this time, the cancer doesn't seem to be reacting to it. So on Friday, 10/29, I met with my Oncologist as was given two options.

Option 1- I can stop all treatment, focus on living my last days without chemo beating me down. If I choose to stop treatment, I can expect to live 6-12 months.

Option 2- I can continue with treatment, but I will need to add more chemo to what I have been doing. This will give me more time, how much is unknown, but it will make me sicker than what I have been doing.

After much thought, I have decided to fight as long as possible and went with Option 2. The real downside to Option 2 is I will be too sick to continue to work. So starting next week I am going on leave from work. Since I have been hospitalized so often this year, I have used up all my PTO and sick time. There are 12 weeks of FMLA that I will use that will cover a percent of my salary. Still, as our family's primary source of income, this will be a significant hit to us financially.

I first want to thank everyone who has helped and supported my family and me over the past five years. Without the help we have received, things would have been awful for us. I am sorry to be in the situation to be asking for more help. I hope you all know I wish this wasn't the case, but thank you to anyone who can pitch in and help us. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
