Hi, my name is Dallis Carr, and I am a Criminal Justice senior at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. I’ve created this Gofundme because the past year has been incredibly difficult, and I am in urgent need of support to return to school this fall and stay on track to graduate in Spring 2026.

This past year has been filled with setback after setback—emotionally, financially, and physically. Despite my best efforts, I now find myself at a crossroads where I cannot move forward without help.

Here’s what I am facing:
Housing Crisis: There’s currently a housing shortage on campus. I've reached out to multiple departments—Criminal Justice, Student Affairs, Residence Life, and even Alumni Affairs. I was finally able to secure a spot on the waitlist however, when I get pulled, I must pay a $300 deposit immediately to claim my place.

Loss of Income: On August 19th, I was involved in a serious car accident that resulted in my car being totaled. Over the summer, I supported myself as a delivery driver for DoorDash and Instacart. Without my car, I’ve lost my only means of income at the moment.

Academic and Emotional Struggles: This past school year was especially traumatic. I fell victim to violence on campus, which led to a suspension and caused me to miss critical class time. My GPA dropped, and I lost my honors scholarship. Shortly after, my emotional support animal fell ill and passed away. Then my phone broke the day before a long-awaited trip I had planned to Houston. Now, the car accident. Everything that could’ve went wrong, did. And through it all, I’ve still fought hard to stay focused on my goal: earning my degree in Criminal Justice and building a better future.

Finishing my degree in Criminal Justice is important to me because I dream of working in government and contributing to policy reform. I have a passion for legislation and a desire to push myself politically to better our government and advocate for people who look like us. I’m sure the road won’t be easy, but I believe that real change starts with education, commitment, and community support.

Why I’m Asking for Help
As much as I love to be independent and figure things out on my own, I’ve exhausted every option I have. I’m determined to return to campus, finish my degree, and turn this tough chapter into a story of resilience. If you can find it in your heart to support my journey, even a few dollars, it will make a world of difference.

Your donation will help me:
• Cover the $300 housing deposit once I am pulled from the waitlist.
• Contribute toward transportation costs.
• Afford essentials as I transition back to campus.

Any amount, no matter how small, is deeply appreciated. If you cannot donate at the moment, please consider sharing this with others who might be able to help.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and for supporting me in whatever way you can❤️

With gratitude,
Dallis Carr
