Help Dallas Recover
Your donation is needed to support Dallas Wilson's recovery from brain injury.
On January 27th, three-year-old Dallas had an accident while playing in his home that caused severe brain injury.
He underwent emergency brain surgery and spent two weeks in intensive care at TC Thompson Children’s Hospital in Chattanooga. He has been hospitalized since the accident.
As a result of the accident, Dallas is left with less control of his motor functions.
He has to relearn how to walk and perform everyday tasks, so now he and his family must focus on physical therapy. Dallas is currently at Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina.
A feisty three-year-old who loves Coldplay and dinosaurs, Dallas is determined to once again walk, run, and play like he did before. He is making exciting progress every day.
But therapy is a slow, expensive process. We are asking for your help with those expenses—and help is needed soon.
Your donation would help to cover the expenses the family has incurred as a result of this accident, and help Dallas receive the care and treatment he needs.
How Your Donation Helps
First, there is the cost of the inpatient therapy Dallas is currently receiving, which can amount to over $1,000 per day.
His mother and father, Ami and Darren, have put their lives on hold since January 27th, and have not been working in order to be with him at the hospital. Your donation would help to replace the income they lost to be with their son.
Eventually, Dallas will go back home, requiring outpatient therapy and around-the-clock assistance and care at home, either from a medical professional or from one of his parents, who would have to quit their job to take care of him and transport him to and from doctor's visit.
There is no way to know how long outpatient care will need to continue, or whether he will need speech therapy in addition to other physical therapy.
He may also need equipment to assist with mobility, and their home may need modifications to make it more accessible and comfortable for Dallas.
