Help Dallas Live a Purposeful Life

I am fundraising for my grandaughter Dallas Collins. She is a strong, sweet and loving four year old girl whose life has forever changed when she unfortunately was involved in a tragic car accident along with her mother and two other family members. On November 18, 2020 shortly after 9:00pm on Brookshire Blvd in Charlotte NC a fugitive was taking the police on a high speed chase and they happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. As they were proceeding through the green light, they were struck head on by the car the fugitive was driving. Dallas did not have a heart beat at the scence but was resusitated on the way to the hospital. Her heart stopped several times at the hospital. She suffered brain swelling and bleeding as well as a spinal cord injury called Atlanto-occipital dislocation. In other words an internal decapitation where her skull was seperated from her spinal cord. The doctors said there was nothing to be done and that the swelling would continue eventually causing her death in a few days. Dallas thought otherwise and woke up and they performed surgery to reattach her skull to her spinal column. She is unable to breath on her own. She is on a ventilator and has a trach. She is paralyzed from neck down. Here we are almost six months later celebrating her 4th birthday still in the hospital. She is showing amazing progress and working very hard in therapy everyday. As Dallas's hospital journey is coming to an end soon she and her parents need help more than ever. We have been searching for programs to assist or just trying to do it all on our own but it has been a difficult and stressful journey as we have been given no real direction. She will need so much including a home that is wheelchair accesible and transportation to accomodate her. General support making her as comfortable as possible through this extremely difficult and new way of living. 

Anyone that knows Dallas, knows what an amazing little lady she is. She absolutely loved dancing and making TikTok videos and would light up the room when she would walk in or rather danced in!! Even still she is so full of happiness and so strong and resilient. She finds a way to smile through it all. The family just needs help to get back on their feet after losing everything except our most precious gift. Please find it in your hearts to help in this time of need.
