Help Daliah Through Her Transplant and Recovery

Hi Everyone,
My name is Daliah. I’m 26 years old. I’ve been a medical “mystery” all my life. One thing has just led to another. Around 4 months old, I had an enlarged spleen. No doctors would take it out until I turned a certain age, and even then they gave my mother problems until she took me up to Rochester. I got it taken out when I was 20. It weighed 10 lbs. I was told that some of my other organs got stunted with it being so large. Plus, I only had 3 months before it burst inside of me.

Then, at the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024, I was having sharp pains in my left side. Every doctor I went to told me I had cirrhosis of the liver until I went back to a liver specialist in Rochester. She told me I had a smaller portal vein, so I got put on blood thinners and we would keep an eye on it. Soon after that, I stopped drinking because I was scared my drinking was a cause of all of this…

Fast forward to November of last year, I slipped down my stairs. I could not feel my one leg, so I went to Urgent Care. My oxygen levels were in the low 80s. I went to get an X-ray and walked back to the room; they dropped to 74. I was told they had to call the ambulance. I told them I do not like the hospital around here and that I’d have my roommate drive me to Rochester. When we got there, I had an EKG, chest X-ray, and a CT scan. Everything came back fine, and they sent me home with a note for the weekend out of work. I went back to work Monday but still felt SUPER winded. I ended up going back to Urgent Care and then back to Rochester. I got admitted this time and had a CT scan, EKG, and chest X-ray again. When I got admitted, they did an echocardiogram and saw I had a hole in my heart. I went to speak with a cardiologist who told me they could close it and it might fix the problem. They wanted to make sure, so they had me do an esophagoscopy to see if they could see it better through the back of my throat. After they got the results, I got a call saying they think the hole is in my lungs. I went to a lung specialist, and she told me because of the way my skin is and the symptoms with my heart and my lungs, I could be looking at a liver transplant…

I got in with my liver doctor this past Tuesday, and because I have 2 out of 4 symptoms, they want to get me ready for a liver transplant. She told me none of this is from my own doing. It’s all because the vein to my liver is so tiny it shows like it has cirrhosis. But I am 2 years sober!!!

I'm asking for donations because with the transplant, waiting period, and recovery, it's going to keep me outta work for an indefinite period of time. With having all of my other medical issues, I don’t have a savings or anything to fall back on.
