My friend Dalesha is a loving, devoted mother who happens to be blind. Blindness has never stopped her from building an independent life, caring for her home, or showing up every day with fierce love and dedication for her son. Despite completing parenting classes, CPR training, and doing everything asked of her to demonstrate her ability to parent safely and responsibly, Dalesha is now facing a devastating legal battle for the right to raise her own child.

This fight is not about abuse, neglect, or harm. It is about outdated assumptions and discrimination that still exist around disability and parenthood. No parent should have to prove their worth simply because they are blind. The emotional toll of this fight is immense, but the financial burden is just as overwhelming. Legal fees, court costs, and advocacy support are piling up, and Dalesha cannot do this alone.
