Dale Kennedy, my co-worker and friend, is facing an unimaginable loss. Just days ago, a house fire destroyed Dale’s home in Warren, OH, leaving him with nothing but the clothes on his back. Tragically, his three beloved dogs—his family—did not survive. Dale was able to escape by jumping from his porch roof. He suffered burns and injuries but has since been treated and released from the hospital.

If you know Dale, you know he is one of the strongest and most resilient people you could ever meet. He has overcome incredible challenges in life, and through it all, he has remained kind, humble, and deeply devoted to those he loves, especially his dogs. Dale is a retiree who works part-time as a maintenance person at a local TV station—who considers him family. Living on a fixed income, he now faces the overwhelming reality of starting over from scratch to find a new place to call home. The road ahead will not be easy, and resources may be limited as he navigates what comes next. While he is currently staying with family, this is only temporary. Like anyone, Dale deserves a safe, stable place of his own—and the ability to rebuild his life with dignity.

We’re coming together to support him in his time of need. First and foremost, we ask for your prayers for Dale as he heals—physically and emotionally—from this devastating loss. If you are able, any financial support will go directly toward securing a new place to live, replacing essential belongings, helping him rebuild after losing everything, and, when he’s ready, helping Dale open his heart again to a rescue dog or two or three—something that brought him so much joy. We also hope to assist with the adoption fees, care, and initial veterinary expenses. Dale hasn’t lost his faith or his positive spirit.
