We are reaching out this holiday season to ask for your help in getting Dale Ingraham home from the hospital. Dale experienced a devastating infection that spread to his spinal column and resulted in an incomplete spinal cord injury. He has been hospitalized or in a nursing home since the beginning of August, dealing with one complication after another. He hasn't been able to stand or walk since the infection spread to his spine, but he has enough strength in his legs that he could learn to walk again with the appropriate rehabilitation services.
Dale's daughters, Jenni Mathis and Valerie Ingraham, have been helping him through this really hard time, and they could all use support to cover his medical expenses. He is still in need of more nursing care and physical therapy before he can safely return home, but he is running out of insurance coverage for these services. There is a program that offers spinal cord injury specific rehabilitation, but it is not covered by his insurance, and wheelchair transportation for his medical appointments costs $925 each time and is not covered. Overall, he is looking at tens of thousands of dollars in health care costs each month, to get the care he needs. If you have anything to spare at this time, please consider making a donation to help get Dale the services he needs to get through this challenging time.
Dale has really been struggling these past few months and is staying hopeful that he can return to his regular life, spending time watching his grandchildren play sports, visiting with friends, and traveling...he has dreams of taking a walk in Spain, and with some time and a lot of hard work in therapy, we would love to see that dream become a reality.
Many thanks and happy holidays!
