***UPDATE 7/26*** Dakota is out of the hospital and staying with family as he goes down the road of recovery.  He is so thankful to everyone who has contributed/shared and continues to do so - it truly means the world!

****UPDATE 7/24***** We have reached our goal thanks to so many incredibly kind and generous people!  Thank you so much to everyone who donated, shared, and helped us!!!  I'm not raising the goal again, but donations are still very welcome and appreciated as the $20K is the low-ball estimate for Dakota's share of his hospital bills.  If you can share and or donate we appreciate it so much!

*******UPDATED******  Dakota's mom talked to the billing people and it looks like just for the hospital stay it's going to be around $20,000 for the portion he owes after insurance.  That's not including time off work, or the helicopter they put him in to airlift him to the hospital, so I've raised the fundraising goal to reflect that.

Hi guys! I'm Dakota's bff Kimberly, and I wanted to set this up to help him with medical costs that he has incurred because of a bad camping accident that left him with 2nd degree burns on 20% of his body this past weekend.

Thankfully, Dakota is in good condition, and currently at the hospital getting excellent care. However, he had to be taken to the hospital by a medical helicopter, and he's having to spend several days there. Though he has insurance, it's likely he'll be facing a verrrry big bill once he's released. I don't have an exact estimate on costs now, but will be sure to update as I get more information.

Dakota is such a beautiful person, and I know he's extremely stressed out about the weeks and months to come as he deals with healing from this injury and the associated costs. Any donation made will help him pay off medical bills and other expenses while he's unable to work while he heals. Even $5 is appreciated!
