Hi, we are Allison and Tammy, and this is our baby girl, Dakota. Dakota is a 9-year-old mixed breed. We got her when she was only 6 weeks old from a friend who rescued her. She was the runt of the litter and has had GI problems over the years due to malnutrition in those first several weeks. We got her on the right medication and diet, and she has thrived since. She has the most out-of-control "licker" I have ever seen! It's like she can't stop! She lights up the room, and you can't help but smile.

Unfortunately, she started limping with her right back leg. We took her to the vet and did X-rays, and she has basically torn her acl. We have been told she will need what is called a TPLO surgery. But after much research and consideration of her age and other factors, we have decided to not do surgery. We have decided to go the route of for braces for her legs. However, the cost is still not cheap. Between both legs needing a casting mold for the fitted braces, the cost is still around $2000. This will also help keep hey other knew stronger and less likely to have the same problem down the road. We are both very hardworking people and do everything we can for our babies. Tammy is an amazing dog sitter, and I work as much overtime as possible for Publix. We are asking for any help from anyone. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this.
