Help Dakota continue leaving the house and live safer

Donation protected

Hi, I’m Dakota, a 17 year old who is going to college in the fall. In 2019 I started having chronic pain and some fatigue. In 2022, I started having non-epileptic seizures and having episodes where I was not able to move my legs. Last year, I was hospitalized twice for those episodes. In April I started having increased fatigue, which has gotten to the point where I can barely walk around the house. I have a wheelchair for leaving the house, but it has become unsafe to use, due to lack of traction and veering. I also can barely lift my wheelchair because of how heavy it is, and I and other people have gotten hurt loading it into the car. It also has become difficult to live without some tools such as hearing/cooling packs, a reacher, and other tools that would let me live better at home. I tend to push myself to unsafe points just so I can take care of important needs. I’m raising money to be able to buy a new wheelchair, hot/cold packs, a mini fridge/freezer so I can keep nutrition drinks and cold packs in my room, and other tools that will help me in day to day life. I’m hoping to be able to go to college in the fall and being able to live safely gets me a lot closer to that goal.
