My Best friend Melissa’s sweet 4-year-old granddaughter Dajia went into Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City for what was expected to be a heart balloon catheterization procedure, but during the procedure she went into cardiac arrest and had to receive chest compressions from the medical team to save her life. Dajia is currently in the Cardiac ICU at Children’s Mercy as doctors continue to monitor and care for her closely.

Doctors have since discovered that her heart is in much worse shape than originally expected, and her recovery is going to take time, patience, and continued medical care. This has been an unimaginable and heartbreaking time for her family as Dajia continues to fight and heal day by day.

Melissa and Tay are staying by Dajia’s side in Kansas City, focusing all of their love, strength, and attention on helping their baby recover. During this difficult time, they are facing unexpected expenses for hotels, food, travel, and daily necessities while being away from home for an unknown amount of time.

We are asking for prayers, love, healing, and support for Dajia and her family during this incredibly difficult journey.
