Help Daisy Walk Again
Hi, my name is Josue Sotelo. I’ve lived in Punta Gorda, Florida, for the past 15 years. I moved here as a teenager, went to middle school, high school, and college here, and Florida has truly become my home. I can’t imagine living anywhere else.
I’m reaching out today because I need help saving my dog leg daisy from amputation and constant pain.
Daisy is my 7-year-old Chihuahua, weighing just 10 pounds, with the sweetest personality and the biggest heart. Her nickname is “satellite ears” because her ears are always standing tall. She’s tiny, gentle, loving, and fiercely protective of the people she loves. Even though she’s small, she truly believes she’s six feet tall. She has always been my pride and joy, and one of the best things that has ever happened to me.
Recently, Daisy was hit by a car. It was one of the most terrifying moments of my life. I rushed her to the emergency vet hospital on Kings Highway, knowing she might not survive. Her eyes were frozen wide open, her body barely moved, and the only thing she could do was make eye contact with me as I raced to save her life. I was told she could pass away at any second.
Thanks to the incredible efforts of the veterinary team, Daisy survived — and I am beyond grateful she is still with me. We have already paid numerous emergency and hospital bills just to keep her alive.
Unfortunately, Daisy is not out of danger yet.
She now needs surgery if she is ever going to walk normally again. She currently limps and struggles to move, and we were told that without surgery, amputation of her foot may become necessary. Hearing that was heartbreaking. Daisy deserves to run, walk, and enjoy life without pain.
The cost of this surgery is more than we can handle alone after everything we’ve already paid. That’s why I’m asking for help.
If you’re able to donate — or even just share Daisy’s story — it would mean the world to us. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings Daisy one step closer to a happy, pain-free life.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, caring, and supporting us. Daisy has fought so hard to stay here, and with your help, she can continue living the joyful life she deserves.
