On Tuesday night, my daughter Christina texted us around 8 o’clock with scary news. Her little wiener dog, Daisy, had been attacked by a coyote right in their backyard. Christina ran outside barefoot and found three coyotes surrounding Daisy. In a terrifying moment, one of the coyotes grabbed Daisy and took off running. Without thinking twice, Christina chased after them—barefoot, through the snow, across the Prestiwick golf course, screaming for help.
After nearly a mile, the coyote finally dropped Daisy. Christina scooped her up, and even as the coyote stared her down, she ran for help. A neighbor, hearing her cries, rushed Christina and Daisy to the emergency vet. Daisy is still with us, but she’s facing a tough road: she has several puncture wounds, a couple of broken ribs, and now needs lung surgery to survive.
The costs for Daisy’s emergency care, surgery, and recovery are overwhelming. We’re asking for your help to support Daisy’s recovery and ease the financial burden on Christina. Any support means the world to us and will help Daisy get the care she needs. Thank you for being part of our community and for keeping Daisy in your thoughts. Christina is a real hero!
