Help Daisy Recover After a Life-Threatening Emergency
Our sweet dog Daisy recently went through something no pet owner is ever prepared for.
A few weeks ago, we found her unresponsive and rushed her to the emergency vet. What followed was one of the scariest experiences we’ve ever faced. From what the veterinary team believes, Daisy suffered a severe anaphylactic reaction. Her body essentially shut down — she lost control of her bodily functions, became dangerously dehydrated to the point her blood had thickened, and was in critical condition fighting for her life.
We still don’t have clear answers as to what caused this.
Daisy spent several days in the ICU under constant care. Thanks to the quick actions of the veterinary team and a whole lot of fight in her, she pulled through and is now back home with us.
While we are incredibly grateful to have her home, she is not out of the woods yet.
Since being discharged, Daisy has already had multiple lab draws, with more scheduled as we continue to monitor her recovery. Her labs are slowly trending in the right direction, but she is still not back to normal. We are taking things day by day, doing everything we can to support her healing and make sure there are no setbacks.
As you can imagine, the cost of emergency care, ICU stays, testing, and ongoing treatment has added up very quickly. We used CareCredit for the initial deposit and expenses, which is now maxed out, and we are continuing to face additional costs as her recovery progresses.
After a lot of prayer and encouragement from friends and family, we’ve decided to create this GoFundMe to help offset some of these unexpected expenses.
If you feel led to give, any amount truly helps and means more to us than we can put into words. If you’re not in a place to give, sharing this page or keeping Daisy in your thoughts and prayers is just as appreciated.
Daisy is a fighter. We’re incredibly thankful she’s still here, and we’re committed to doing whatever it takes to help her fully recover.
Thank you for your support, encouragement, and for being part of Daisy’s journey.
