Daisy May’s diagnosis is in… and it’s not what we were hoping for.
She has osteosarcoma (aggressive bone cancer) in her left rear leg.
Just a short time ago, she was running, playing, and being her goofy, happy self. Now we’re being told she may only have 2–4 months without aggressive treatment. I can’t accept that as her story.
Daisy is only 2 years old, turning 3 on May 5th, and she deserves so much more life than that.
We are moving forward as quickly as possible to give her the best chance. On Monday, she will have a chest X-ray to check if the cancer has spread. From there, we are planning immediate amputation of her left rear leg to remove the primary tumor and relieve her pain.
After surgery, we are looking at chemotherapy and/or radiation to try and slow the progression and give her more time—good time.
We are also doing everything we can to get her into a clinical trial in Missouri for a new cancer vaccine that could potentially extend her life even further. The only downside is the distance—it’s about a 4-hour drive one way, and it will require multiple trips. But for Daisy, I would make that drive every single time without hesitation.
The reality is… this is going to be expensive.
Between the amputation, imaging, chemo/radiation, medications, follow-ups, and travel—it will be thousands of dollars.
But Daisy isn’t just a dog. She’s family. She’s my baby. She’s the sweetest, most loving girl who still looks at me like everything is okay… and I’m going to do everything in my power to make that true for her.
If you’re able to donate, share, or even just keep Daisy in your thoughts—we are so beyond grateful. Every single bit helps us fight for more time with her.
Thank you for loving our girl. ❤️
