I’m starting this fundraiser for Daisy, our four-year-old rescue dog. Christina and I adopted Daisy in Texas after she and her litter were abandoned beside a road. She has been a sweet, gentle part of our family ever since and brings us so much comfort every day.
One of Daisy’s hind legs has been bothering her for about a year, and she recently began having trouble with the other leg too. At her surgeon appointment on October 5, we learned that both of Daisy’s knees need surgery. Our hope is to reduce her pain and help her walk, get up, and move around comfortably again.
On October 15, we met with another veterinarian for a second opinion. After discussing a different surgical approach, we’ve decided to move forward with that vet. We believe this plan is the best choice for Daisy and is also much more affordable for our family. The estimated cost for both surgeries is now approximately $7,000.
We’ve lowered our fundraising goal from $20,000 to $8,000 to reflect the new plan and help with related care and processing fees. We’ll share updates as we confirm the details of her treatment, costs, and recovery.
Thank you to everyone who has already donated, shared Daisy’s fundraiser, or sent kind words. Any amount you can give will help us get her the care she needs. If you’re unable to donate, sharing her page would mean so much to us. Thank you for helping us care for our sweet girl.
