Help with Daisy’s knee (CCL) surgery
Donation protected
UPDATE:
Daisy had her surgery on 10/17 and is currently recovering. Any extra donations will be put towards her recovery and later will be put towards training when she is fully recovered. Thank you so so much to everybody who has donated, we are really so incredibly grateful for how generous everybody has been.
Daisy is a 6 year old sweet boxer who has been diagnosed with bilateral cranial cruciate ligament tears. This is equivalent to a person tearing both of their ACLs.
For the past year, she had been slowly declining and not moving around as much. About 5 months ago, I brought her into the vet and we took X-rays and sent them out to be interpreted and found she had bilateral partially torn cruciate ligaments. This is fairly common in the boxer breed or any active breed. Her right leg was what had been bothering her, so she had been overcompensating and putting more weight on her left leg. Last month, Daisy started lifting her left leg up and has been lame on it ever since. No matter how many pain meds we have her on, she still seems to be in so much pain.
I brought her in for a bilateral TPLO surgery consult to fix her knees and the surgeon said her left CCL is torn and her right one is about to tear. He recommended to get her in the next week for the surgery.
She loves playing with her housemates, Lily and Penny, and loves going on long walks and runs. She is a cuddle bug, but when she gets her bursts of energy, she lights up the room. Right now, she can hardly go up and down the stairs. She misses being able to go on walks and playing with her sisters.
I’m starting this gofundme so we can afford the surgery she needs to fix her knees and be able to walk normal again. Asking for help is something we didn’t want to do and aren’t used to, but was very unexpected for us.
It would mean the world to us if you can donate $1, or even share with your friends and family. We will be forever grateful!
